I have just finished the first full draft of my latest book. As a setting, I have drawn upon a place I frequently cycle past. Today, someone decided to pull out of its driveway and have a good go at knocking me off my bike – I think they believed my emergency stop was me slowing down to allow them to continue pulling out. They say Pride Comes Before A Fall, but the irony of being wiped out by the resident of a place I have used for what I believe is my best work, is something I do not want to repeat.
